Being an Advanced Care Paramedic has given me the opportunity to work in a career that I love while raising a beautiful family. Countless people have helped me in my EMS career since 1999, and I'm excited to be part of an organization that can create amazing opportunities for so many people that helps them in their future career.
Hi, my name is Dan Neels. As a Paramedic Pay It Forward Award recipient in 2014, I am honoured to be a committee member for such a great awards program. I started my EMS career in 2009 and am currently working as a ACP. From an early age I have always enjoyed teaching and helping others. In my spare time you can find me playing sports and sharing outdoor experiences with my family.
My prehospital career started in 2001 when I joined the Canadian Forces Medical Reserves. I completed my PCP in B.C. and my ACP at Northern Lakes College in 2018. I am employed full-time with St. John Ambulance as the Manager of Training and work part-time for the CAF, AHS and teaching for multiple organizations/schools. I actively volunteer with the CAF peer support program and as a board member assisting survivors of Domestic Violence. I love hanging out with my family, working out and shaded outdoor activities.
